Hick inks ban on bath salts; lawmaker calls substance ‘destructive’

A ban on the possession or distribution of “bath salts,” a potentially dangerous, synthetically produced street drug, was signed into law Thursday by Gov. John Hickenlooper. The drug recently garnered national attention after a man high on bath salts chewed off the face of a homeless man in Miami.

Easier access, lower fees pending for Secretary of State’s Office

A measure aimed at making transactions between businesses and the secretary of state more efficient garnered unanimous support today in the House Economic and Business Development Committee.
Senate Bill 123, sponsored by Sen. Scott Renfroe R-Greeley, and Rep. J. Paul Brown, R-Durango, would among other provisions offer the public greater online search functionality and reduce filing fees through consolidation of multiple entities.
Brown said the changes represent needed and useful improvements.
“This allows the Secretary of State’s Office to be more efficient and more consumer-friendly,” said Brown.
